Business Canvas is a startup that provides document-based collaboration SaaS ‘Typed’ for team knowledge management. It is characterized by managing data in a network structure so that a vast amount of data in various forms can be systematically collected and utilized. Currently, more than 20,000 users in more than 150 countries around the world use ‘Typed’, suggesting a new paradigm for document work and knowledge management, and is rapidly growing into a global SaaS company.
Challenge
Since the beginning of the business, we have been using Firebase, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions to rapidly develop and test products. As a result, I naturally started using other services of Google Cloud. Also, since ‘Typed’ is a SaaS that helps systematically manage a lot of data, it was important to make good use of the data. That’s why we chose Google Cloud, which has strengths in big data and machine learning.
If you are an early startup, you can quickly test and develop through Google Cloud’s various features. Also, since it provides many features specific to big data and machine learning, it is a big advantage that we can further develop our products through Google Cloud.

Currently, all main services of ‘Typed’ are operated within GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine). An environment for rapid testing and deployment is built so you can focus only on product feature development. BigQuery is also used to measure user log data. It is very satisfying in that it can collect and process vast amounts of data in real time.
In addition, Google Cloud is used for all necessary infrastructure such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, and Memorystore. In the future, ‘Typed’ plans to provide a machine learning-based data recommendation function to enable three-dimensional data management, and we plan to actively utilize various functions of Google Cloud in this process.
