THE CHALLENGE
Hanwha Techwin operated AWS through other companies before using Bespin Global’s managed services. However, there were some unresolved problems and difficulties for a long time.
Firstly, in the event of a failure, the systematic processing process was not established and it took a long time to process the response.
Secondly, the range of services was limited. Even with a lot of development factors, there was no monitoring of the PaaS service and the situation could not be grasped properly.
Thirdly, there was a lack of operational personnel with expertise. There were limitations in dealing with simultaneous failures or traffic congestion, and the architecture was inefficient due to lack of understanding of AWS services.
THE SOLUTION
Bespin Global’s premium managed service with a monitoring system was tailored to the customer’s environment.
Bespin Global implemented a series of measures that included a 24x7x365 failure response process, monitoring system based on customer’s environment and demand. The engineers ensured there was an efficient architecture design, with 99.99% service availability to guarantee a stable operating environment. These measures ensured operational transparency and cut down costs.
Provides various monitoring dashboards by service/ item / application
This measure to monitor optimization is to swiftly identify failures. Furthermore, integrated monitoring center operation included security and backup management. AWS PaaS monitoring was ensured as well.
This was done using Open Source, to monitor optimization and quickly identify failures.
24x7x365 Failure Response Process
This introduces ticketing service and alarm to the person in charge in case of trouble, which prompts instant responses. A dedicated team also ensured rapid and reliable responses.
Manage Backup Data
Finally, there was an improvement on the backup operating environment with regular backup reports and volume usage reporting. An automated backup data management with third party backup solution was implemented.
THE OUTCOMES
Since operating as a premium managed service of BESPIN GLOBAL , the disruption time, which was 540 minutes for one year at the time of the operation of other companies, was shortened to 19 minutes, and 99.99% of service availability was not possible.
With the launch of the new service, we were able to operate our temporarily growing workloads reliably without any system downtime or issues, and reduce our AWS infrastructure costs by consolidating idle resources and introducing RI. In addition, the open source system built with specialized consulting and engineering staff saved more than half of the licensing costs.
The systematic documentation and process of operating conditions have created a transparent operating environment, and the PaaS environment as well as the IaaS can be monitored based on a wide range of service capabilities .
