Company Overview

Shoplive is a tech startup that provides a SaaS platform for live commerce. It has various functions so that you can operate live commerce directly on your brand’s own online platform or mobile app. Major domestic customers include various enterprise and SMB companies such as Musinsa, Zigzag, Queenit, Handsome, and Kolon, and are rapidly growing by entering global markets such as East Asia and North and South America.

Challenge

As collaboration with global clients increased and the number of users coming from abroad increased, we felt the need to provide faster and more reliable streaming services, and began testing several CDN* solutions suitable for this.

In addition, when reviewing the cloud, there are cases where what was thought to be possible in terms of specifications is quite different in terms of service level or stability after actual introduction, but this has been regrettable and difficult. So, in the process of introducing this CDN solution, we tried to reduce trial and error as much as possible.

Through Amazon CloudFront, streaming video is also smoothly transmitted to global users. Amazon CloudFront is reliable enough to require no monitoring in terms of reliability, and more secure in terms of security because it provides traffic encryption. It is convenient and efficient in that it can be used in connection with other AWS services, and the network bandwidth can be set as needed.

Developing in such a stable and highly configurable infrastructure environment shortened the development time and greatly increased the satisfaction of the engineering team members.

Shoplive uses a lot of AWS infrastructure in addition to Amazon CloudFront to operate its live commerce solution. Bespin Global actively supported AWS-related inquiries and provided a competitive pricing policy in terms of cost. In particular, there is a perception that Amazon CloudFront is vaguely expensive, but Shoplive used Bespin at a cost-effective cost, and as a result, they were able to reduce their CDN cost by more than 30%.
